Hi, I’m Ann! I am a product designer based in the Bay Area.
I have a background in healthcare and psychology.
I’ve always wanted a career that would make a positive impact in people’s lives. After graduating from college, I pursued occupational therapy to help people carry out meaningful activities in their daily lives. I worked in a transitional care facility as a rehab tech and volunteered in a pediatric clinic where I practiced patience and problem solving. In occupational therapy - like in UX design - it was extremely important to step into the patients’ shoes to cater to their individual goals and needs.
I am a lifelong learner.
Working in healthcare was very rewarding, but when I had to relocate to be closer to family, I took that as an opportunity to explore other careers. I was intrigued by the fact that working in tech meant having to constantly grow since the field is always evolving.
I <3 product design.
I am captivated by product design because people are at the center of it all. At the same time, I am able to let my creativity shine. I’m excited to continue to challenge myself and grow as a product designer. 13-year-old me, who used to spend hours editing Myspace layouts, would be screaming right now if she knew I got to do something this cool everyday.
I like books.
In my spare time, you can catch me curled up with a book to get in my feels or learning a new recipe. If not, I’ll be on the couch munching away in front of the TV or taking a walk somewhere. Balance is key, my friends.
